Religious and Spiritual Services
Spiritual programs relevant to many denominations are provided. Our pastoral care committee provides services on Saturday (Roman Catholic mass) and Sunday (interdenominational service) as our residents represent a variety of faiths. Residents are also encouraged to invite their own clergy or church representative to visit them. Spiritual and inspirational programs such as bible readings and hymn sings are held on a regular basis.

Business Office
Our business office is organized and efficient and can handle all your financial needs. Staff will help you set up a Resident Trust Account, direct debit for paying accommodation fees or simply address your monthly billing inquiries.
Our business office recognizes the importance of maintaining confidentiality in residents' information and financial documentation. Each resident’s information is held in a secured area using a strict information access protocol.
The office is open Monday to Thursday from 8:30 am – 6:00 pm and from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm on Friday. After hours and on weekends, the nursing staff will be pleased to assist you.

Salon Services
Our licensed professional hairstylist offers a full range of services and is available two days a week. Appointments are open to both ladies and gentlemen and can be arranged through the business office. Our hairstylist provides excellent service tailored to meet the needs of each resident.

Education Services
Staff education is a very important part of our commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
We provide ongoing training to staff on resident care, safety, CARE customer service excellence, infection control and best practices. Regular education sessions not only provide training but are also a forum for staff members to ask questions regarding current or new techniques, equipment, procedures or any subject related to resident care or staff safety.
Education around safety always takes priority. Fire drills are held on all three shifts at least once per month and emergency evacuation procedures are tested on a regular basis. Through regular education we can ensure that we provide Excellence in Customer Care and Service.

Volunteer Services
At Extendicare Somerset volunteers are an extremely important part of our team. Volunteers provide support by assisting residents during regular recreation programs, special events, one-to-one visits or by providing assistance to other department staff.
All volunteers are provided with a name badge, a volunteer orientation program and must sign a pledge of confidentiality before they work with residents. Volunteers must adhere to an expected code of conduct and treat all residents and family members with courtesy and respect.
Family members and friends of residents are encouraged to volunteer their time to help in various departments.
