Support Services
The McCall Centre’s support services are designed to provide the best atmosphere for every individual in the centre. Our support services staff are professionals who give attention to detail. They strive to enhance the quality of life for all those who live, visit and work in our centre.

Environmental Services
Our environmental team members in housekeeping, laundry and maintenance support the efforts of all disciplines by providing a clean, safe and healthy environment. Having compassion, respect and an understanding of personal dignity ensures the team fosters a trusting and respectful relationship with patients, families and other team members.

Religious and Spiritual Services
Pastoral and spiritual considerations are provided by the McCall Centre Deacon, visiting clergy and pastoral care volunteers. They help patients access their spirituality which helps them integrate into the McCall Centre community. One-to-one pastoral visits, worship services and other programs such as Bible study and hymn sing take place regularly. We also offer monthly onsite religious services for predominant religions.  

Education Services
All staff members are trained through ongoing in-house and external education programs. Patient safety is an area of key focus for education services; monthly fire drills are carried out on all shifts to ensure skills are kept to proficient levels. Other emergency preparedness exercises are practiced throughout the year. We also provide ongoing education to staff on Extendicare’s CARE customer service program, proper use of all equipment and current health care issues to help deliver optimum care to our patients.

Business Office
Our business office recognizes the importance of maintaining confidentiality in patients' information and financial documentation. Each patient’s information is held in a secured area using a strict information access protocol. Our Office Manager will be happy to assist patients, families and guests Monday to Friday during regular business hours.  

Beautician Services
We offer a fully equipped, wheelchair accessible salon where a beautician is able to meet our patients' hairstyling needs. Appointments can be arranged through the nursing staff or by contacting the beautician herself.

Volunteer Services
Volunteers are an integral part of our team. They support patients by assisting with scheduled recreation programs, events and one-to-one interactions. Volunteers are clearly identified and are trained in the roles they assume. A pledge of confidentiality and patient safety are key components of our volunteer orientation program.
