Support Services
Extendicare Hamilton's support services address each resident’s business, religious, and personal needs, creating a feeling of comfort and respect. Our services are designed to provide the best atmosphere for every individual in the home.  

Religious and Spiritual Services
Inter-denominational spiritual programs are provided within our home. These include bible study, hymn sing and multi-faith prayer. Weekly church services are held in an inter-denominational setting as well as a denominational setting. Our chaplain and volunteers make regular pastoral visits.

Business Office
Our business office recognizes the importance of maintaining confidentiality in residents' information and financial documentation. Each resident’s information is held in a secured area using a strict information access protocol.

Our courteous receptionist is available to assist you between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily.

Hairstylist Services
Our salon is wheelchair accessible and caters to all resident hairstyling needs. Appointments can be arranged directly at the business office.  

Education Services
All staff members are trained through education services in the Wellness Model of Care, Extendicare’s CARE program, proper use of all equipment and current health care subjects applicable to delivering optimum care to our residents.

Resident safety is an area of key focus for education services. Monthly fire drills are carried out on all shifts to ensure skills are kept to proficient levels. Other emergency preparedness exercises are practiced throughout the year.

Volunteer Services
Volunteers are an integral part of our team. They support residents by assisting with scheduled recreation programs, events and one-to-one interactions. Volunteers are clearly identified while onsite and trained in the roles they assume.

A pledge of confidentiality and resident safety are key components of our volunteer orientation program.  

Environmental Services
At Extendicare Hamilton our housekeeping, laundry and maintenance team supports the efforts of all disciplines by providing a clean, safe and healthy environment. 

Having compassion, respect and an understanding of personal dignity ensures the team fosters a trusting and respectful relationship with residents, families and other team members.
