At Extendicare Leduc, we believe in promoting and achieving quality of life for residents that considers each individual's worth and dignity, protects individuality, and meets specific needs. Care is orchestrated with a team approach and incorporates meticulous assessment and planning for each resident's physical, emotional, intellectual, social and spiritual needs.
Nursing Care
Our nursing department provides 24-hour professional care through its competent and knowledgeable team of registered nurses and health care aides. Individualized care plans provide the foundation for meeting the many complex care needs of residents. The care plan’s greatest strength is the involvement of the resident and family in setting their care goals.
Residents with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias can live life to its fullest in a safe and caring home. Our highly trained staff promote resident independence and dignity by providing the assistance they require in a confidential and respectful manner.

Dietary Services
Our dietary department provides nutritious, home-cooked meals individualized to the needs of each resident. The five-week menu cycle accommodates residents' likes and dislikes, as well as ethnic and cultural preferences. All meals are prepared onsite and served restaurant-style in our dining rooms.
Our registered dietitian assesses the nutritional requirements of residents. Together with residents, families, and registered team members, our dietitian develops the best-suited nutritional plan. Relatives, friends and visitors are encouraged to join us for meals with their loved one as often as they like.
Resident Programs
The physiotherapy team and the activation department work together through the restorative and rehabilitative care programs to help increase the strength, and create feelings of independence and self worth for all our residents.

Activity programs include social teas, exercise, bingo, baking, mental aerobics, crafts, garden club and movie nights, to name a few. Special events include pub nights, theme parties, birthday celebrations, and outings.
Our Snoezelen Room, a room with exciting blend of sights, sounds, aromas and movement, was especially developed to help stimulate and promote communication in those living with dementia.
