At Extendicare Lethbridge, we strive to meet the care needs of our residents, families and our community.
Our professional staff, which includes occupational therapists, physiotherapists, recreation therapists, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, dietitian, pharmacist and social worker, provide care for individuals with many complex needs. Residents can rest assured that our competent team will manage their health and social needs.
Nursing Care
The goal of the nursing department is to provide a therapeutic environment with a holistic approach. Elements of care provided may include preventative, restorative, rehabilitative, supportive and palliative care, or a combination of these elements.
At Extendicare Lethbridge, registered nursing professionals are onsite 24-hours a day. Accurate record keeping is a component of our quality improvement process that ensures standards are maintained. Desired levels of independence, dignity, and personal preference are all part of the planning process, making each resident feel welcome and at home, while meeting their specific needs. This is achieved through Extendicare programs like Health Trac, Guardian Angel and C.A.R.E.
Individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias can live life to its fullest in a safe, supportive and caring environment.

Dietary Services
Our registered dietitian works closely with the care team to assess the nutritional requirements of our residents. Therapeutic diets are provided for residents with specific dietary needs.
We serve nutritious, home-cooked meals with two entrée choices offered at lunch and supper. Refreshments are served between meals and in the evening.
The resident executive council meets regularly to discuss, review and make suggestions for revisions to our menu. Quality is assured for our residents through ongoing communication and feedback.
Social Work Services
Our social worker can help you and your family to become acquainted and accustomed to this new living environment. The social worker, a member of our leadership team, provides supportive counselling, information and education with regard to adjustment, psychosocial, and financial issues, guardianship, trusteeship, and as needed referrals to appropriate community resources.
