Environmental Services
At Extendicare Moose Jaw, our general services department ensures that our facility remains clean and our environment inviting. Our general services team members work closely with our residents and their families to provide a homelike environment and encourage residents and families to personalize their rooms.
Our laundry services staff take great pride in maintaining our residents’ clothing and are key to focusing on the residents’ needs and in fostering a trusting and respectful relationship with residents, families and other team members.

Religious and Spiritual Services
At Extendicare Moose Jaw we understand the diversity of spirituality.
Spiritual programs relevant to many denominations are provided within our home. Spiritual and inspirational programs include hymn sing, short bible readings and reflections.
Weekly spiritual services are held in a non-denominational setting. Pastoral volunteers make regular visits, as well as provide the opportunity for receiving communion and blessings within some denominational practices. Residents' choices are fully respected in defining their spiritual needs.

Business Office
Extendicare Moose Jaw believes in the importance of personal contact and recognizes the fact that our residents' and family members' schedules often vary. Our courteous receptionists are available to assist you between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. weekdays, and 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on weekends. Our receptionists can direct you to the appropriate locations and individuals you are seeking.
Our business office recognizes the importance of maintaining confidentiality in residents' information and financial documentation. Each resident’s information is secured in a restricted area in the business office with strict access to information protocol followed.

Beautician Services
Our salon is wheelchair accessible and located at the far east side of the facility. It caters to all of our residents' hairstyling needs. Appointments can be arranged directly at the salon with our licensed hairstylist or you can speak with the nurse and she will be happy to make arrangements for you.

Maintenance & Caretaker Services
Extendicare Moose Jaw works hard to maintain a functional, safe, sanitary and attractive environment in accordance with the home's goals, objectives and our Commitment to Residents.
The caretaker is responsible for the grounds, landscaping and flower gardens. Maintenance of the home's common areas is diligently addressed, always working towards increased comfort and environmental appeal. Attractive outdoor sitting areas encourage residents and family members to enjoy fresh air and sunshine.

Staff Development
The safety of our residents is a key focus of education services. Monthly fire drills are carried out on all shifts to ensure that staff skills are kept to proficient levels.
Staff development provides opportunities for staff to ask questions regarding any area of holistic, healthcare service applicable to delivering optimum care to our residents.
Reference pamphlets are available to families on a variety of subjects. Staff development is an important component to delivering consistent superior care by educating and training staff to meet or exceed resident needs.

Volunteer Services
At Extendicare Moose Jaw, our volunteers are an integral part of our team and valued beyond words. Volunteers support residents through assisting with scheduled recreation programs, events and one-on-one interactions. Volunteers brighten everyone's day with their cheery demeanor.
Our affiliation with many community-based venues such as churches, schools, work experience, career-building and training programs provide Extendicare Moose Jaw with the opportunity to continually recruit and maintain our valuable volunteer base.
Every volunteer is identified by a name badge they wear onsite and are trained in the roles that they assume. Our Pledge of Confidentiality and Commitment to Residents are components of our orientation program for volunteers, as is resident safety. Our volunteers abide by an established code of conduct without reservation, in ensuring a respectful and nurturing interaction with your loved one.
