At Extendicare New Orchard, we understand that each resident’s quality of life depends on an approach to care that combines input from residents and family members with individual assessments from a team of educated caregivers. This approach ensures that support and care is tailored to meet the needs of each unique individual.
Our staff includes auxiliary services; footcare; physiotherapy; dental services; psycho-geriatric services; registered nurses; registered practical nurses; personal care workers; laundry and housekeeping aides; activity aides; restorative care aides; a registered dietitian; and a social worker to help, support and care for our residents. All of our healthcare staff are supported by an experienced administrative team.
Our facility is warm, personal and pleasant. New Orchard Lodge has 15 private rooms, 45 semi-private rooms, and two ward rooms. It’s small enough to be intimate but large enough to provide a range of programs and services. Residents are encouraged to bring additional items such as bedspreads, pictures or knickknacks to personalize their rooms. A home environment needs to be safe to feel secure, so at Extendicare New Orchard Lodge there are call bells at each bed, in each washroom, and in all tub rooms. Our building is also completely equipped with heat and smoke detectors, and a two-stage fire alarm system with pull stations.
Extendicare New Orchard Lodge is independently accredited by the Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation. We voluntarily participate in this accreditation process, and make our results publicly available to send a clear message that we strongly believe in our ability to deliver excellent care in quality facilities.
