Dietary Services
At Extendicare Port Hope, we pride ourselves in providing nutritious home-cooked meals. Our Resident Food Committee consists of a dedicated group of residents who meet monthly to discuss and review the current and upcoming menus. Changes to our menu are a result of direct resident input received from this. In keeping with the Gentlecare philosophy, we offer relaxed meal service times.
Our in-house registered dietitian assesses the nutritional requirements of our residents. In co-ordination with our residents, families, and registered team members, our dietitian develops the best-suited nutritional plan of care.

Environmental Services
Extendicare Port Hope's environmental services department works diligently to maintain our welcoming atmosphere. Personal laundry service is offered to all our residents. Our team members are key personnel who focus not only on the daily housekeeping or laundry needs but also provide a listening ear when someone is lonely or a hug when someone is down. Our environmental services department is also responsible for ensuring that our residents are safe and secure both within and outside of their home.

Religious and Spiritual Services
We strive to ensure that the spiritual needs of our residents are being met - this includes outreach to the community on behalf of our residents through our lay minister and various volunteers who lead our church services and make regular pastoral visits.
Multi-denominational spiritual programs are provided within Extendicare Port Hope. Spiritual programs include hymn sings, Roman Catholic mass, Anglican communion, bible reading, mid-week devotional time, memorial services etc. As well, weekly Sunday church services are held in an inter-denominational setting.

Beautician Services
Our wheelchair accessible salon is located on the 2nd floor and caters to all of our residents' hairstyling needs. Salon hours are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 8:30 to 4:30 p.m. Financial arrangements can be made at the business office and appointments made at the salon.
