Some job seekers may be interested in how their experience will be recognized and carried with them at Extendicare.  The following statements may provide some assistance with these questions. 

Recognition of Previous Experience
Recognition of a new employee’s previous work experience for specific job classifications shall be subject to the applicable collective agreement or Extendicare handbook. In such instances, Extendicare will determine if one’s previous work experience is sufficiently relevant to the job classification into which the new employee is recruited into.

Prospective employees should be prepared to provide documented evidence of previous work experience in the event the opportunity exists.

Portability
Portability of certain entitlements from one Extendicare facility to another, if permitted, shall be subject to the applicable collective agreement or Extendicare handbook.
