Dietary Services
At Extendicare Preston, we pride ourselves in providing nutritious home-cooked meals. At Resident Council meetings, our residents discuss and review the current menu. Changes to our menu are made as a result of the feedback that we receive from our residents.
Our regional registered dietitian is available to assess the nutritional requirements of our residents. Together with our residents, their families, physicians and nursing team members, our dietitian develops the best-suited nutritional plan of care.

Environmental Services
At Extendicare Preston, our environmental services departments (housekeeping, laundry and maintenance) are responsible for ensuring that our residents are safe and secure both within and outside of our facility. Our environmental services team members are key personnel who focus not only on the housekeeping, laundry and maintenance needs of our residents, but also on developing trusting relationship with our residents, families, and other team members.

Physical Therapy Services
Extendicare Preston contracts rehabilitation services from a Registered Physical Therapist. Residents are assessed for functional abilities on admission and as their conditions dictate. The therapist is a member of the interdisciplinary team and works closely with the resident, the family and our nursing team to set up a walking or exercise program for each resident

Religious and Spiritual Services
At Extendicare Preston, we understand the diversity of spirituality. Our Pastoral Care Committee oversees all pastoral services and spiritual care at our facility. Spiritual care includes, but is not limited to, ensuring that the spiritual needs of our residents and families are met. This is done in part by reaching out to the community on behalf of our residents. Various churches in our neighbourhood provide worship services. Most services are interdenominational in nature and content. Spiritual programs include bible study, Catholic mass, Ukrainian Catholic and Ukrainian Orthodox services, Anglican communion service, Lutheran and United service and multi-faith prayer.
Pastors and volunteers from the various faiths make regular pastoral visits.

Business Office
Extendicare Preston believes in the importance of personal contact and recognizes the fact that our residents' and family members' schedules often vary. Our bookeeper or receptionist is available to assist you between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday. The business office is closed on weekends and holidays.

Beautician Services
Our wheelchair-accessible salon is located off the recreation room and caters to all of our residents' hairdressing needs. Appointments can be arranged at the business office.
