Environmental Services
Extendicare Viking’s environmental services team, which includes housekeeping, laundry and maintenance, supports the efforts of all disciplines by providing a clean, safe and healthy environment. Having compassion, respect and an understanding of personal dignity ensures the team fosters a trusting and respectful relationship with residents, families and other team members.

Religious and Spiritual Services
Our pastoral team is devoted to the spiritual needs our residents. Services are non-denominational and held weekly along with mass on Sundays. Residents have an opportunity to participate in communion, bible study and gospel hour once a week. The pastoral team also visits during the week to provide private spiritual support.

Business Office
Our business office recognizes the importance of maintaining confidentiality in residents' information and financial documentation. Each resident’s information is held in a secured area using a strict information access protocol.
Our courteous office coordinator is available to assist residents, families and guests between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays. On weekends and holidays, business assistance is available at the nursing desk.

Beautician Services
Our wheelchair accessible salon caters to all our residents' hairdressing needs. Appointments can be arranged directly at the salon with our licensed hairstylist, who will be happy to meet your personalized service needs.

Education Services
All staff are trained to deliver current best practice and optimal care to our residents. Whether the focus is direct care practice, support services delivery or discussions on quality of life; our residents’ needs and desires are the central theme.
Resident safety is one key area for ongoing education. Routine fire drills for example ensure competency and readiness in case of a fire situation. Fire drills are highly interactive and scenarios vary in order to challenge staff to react effectively.
Education also focuses on other areas: use of new equipment, current health care topics relevant to resident care, and even self-care information for personal wellness. Extendicare Viking partners with the local Health Region on many levels to optimize learning opportunities.

Volunteer Services
Volunteers are an integral part of our team. They support residents by assisting with scheduled recreation programs, events and one-to-one interactions. Volunteers are clearly identified while onsite and trained in the roles they assume. A pledge of confidentiality and resident safety are key components of our volunteer orientation program.
We encourage our residents' families to join our team of dedicated volunteers.
